An unexpected outting, hurrah!
I was just about to settle down to work in a serious way when my friend Terri called me to suggest that we go out for coffee. Well, who was I to say nay? So off we went to the Pembina Village Restaurant, which has the most amazing chicken club sandwiches in the city, in my opinion.
After that we drove out to the Bridge Drive-In, a Winnipeg landmark which features wonderfully rich soft ice cream and creamy hot fudge. Unfortunately it was still closed for the season.

So we went to Dairy Queen instead, which was open. As a diabetic I watch my carb intake quite closely, but every so often I give myself permission to indulge in a sugar-rich dessert. The first ice cream sundae of the season (hot caramel and hot fudge blend) tasted oh, so delicious.
And for you cat lovers, a photo of Mina, who found an unexpectedly sunny place to lurk under my altar, which is in the middle of the living room in preparation for tomorrow night's ritual:

Now it's time to go downstairs and put some laundry on. At 7:30 pm I'll be making meatloaf, and then my husband George has asked me to finish tagging all my pictures in iPhoto so that he can archive them. After that, it's MM (at last).
